A tour and romantic dinner in the center of Verona
Participants will be picked up at 6.00pm for departure to the historic center of Verona. Upon arrival you will be greeted by elegant Piazza Bra, the main square, and the famous amphitheater Arena, the third largest Roman amphitheater after the Roman Colosseum. Built in the first century AD with local pink and reddish stone from Valpolicella, it was the place where the ancient Romans attended fights between gladiators, animals and other bloody exhibitions. Today the Arena, with a capacity of 20,000 people, is the largest opera venue in the world. Every year since 1913, in fact, the open-air opera festival attracts celebrities, tourists and fans from all over the world. Piazza Bra is also home to famous buildings like Palazzo Barbieri in the neoclassical style – the seat of City Hall since 1869, and the Gran Guardia with a central portico and 15 arches separated by neoclassical columns, now a place destined for exhibitions, conferences, various events and social events. On the famous Liston, long marble slabs that make up part of the sidewalk pavement of the square, you will have the chance to have a drink at a table at one of the many sidewalk cafes and restaurants on that side of the square. Before dinner, you can also go window-shopping at the designer boutiques in Via Mazzini which will lead you to the characteristic Piazza delle Erbe and Juliet’s famous house, which was the setting for the famous tale of two lovers written by Shakespeare. The romantic dinner dedicated to you will be at one of the most renowned restaurants in the city, where traditional dishes are combined with the creativity of a modern chef with attention to detail. Thanks to a warm welcome and the excellent service that will accompany you during your dinner, you will spend a pleasant and special moment in the famous “City of Love.”
